PACT: Parenting Adoptees Can Trust provides education, support, and research-based strategies to help parents of foster, adoptive, and at-risk children build better relationships with their children. A child who has experienced neglect, abandonment, abuse or other early traumas has complex needs and often exhibits maladaptive behaviors that require a unique approach to parenting.
Debra coaches parents in using the Trust-Based Relational Intervention® (TBRI®), a model developed by Drs. Karyn Purvis and David Cross at The Institute of Child Development at TCU. Parents who have embraced this parenting model report improved behavior, attachment, language processing, and social skills in their children.
