Families report improved relationships with their adoptees as well as significant behavioral improvements when they have applied the strategies learned from PACT. Parents feel more confident in handling the unique and sometimes confusing needs of children who have experienced abandonment, neglect, and other traumas. Children cope better with their past and learn to trust the parents of their present and their forever….

Our staff and volunteers have experience with children who have overcome many obstacles and made significant gains in appropriate family and peer relationships.

While many adoptions have a "happily ever after" story, there are families who struggle with how to help a child from backgrounds of neglect, abuse, institutionalization, or other traumas. Parenting this child requires special understanding of the unique needs and possible learning differences in a child who has experienced neglect, abuse, or trauma.
